What does HarnessSync actually do?

Two things: install your AI coding stack (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, MCP servers, editor extensions) with one click, and keep your skills/commands/hooks/prompts identical across every machine you sign in from.

Which platforms are supported?

macOS (Intel + Apple Silicon), Windows (x64 + arm64), and Linux (x64 + arm64). The desktop app is built with Tauri.

Do you store my Anthropic / OpenAI keys?

No. Per-harness auth is delegated to each CLI’s own login (claude login, codex login, etc.). HarnessSync never holds those tokens.

Open source?

The desktop app and CLIs are open. The backend is closed.

Free vs Pro sync – what’s actually different?

Free uses your own GitHub repo as the sync target (BYO). Pro uses HarnessSync-managed cloud git – no GitHub setup, instant multi-device, encrypted in transit.

What counts toward my storage quota?

Cloud-synced skills, slash commands, hooks, prompts, and per-project settings. Local-only files don’t count.

What happens at the storage cap?

Pushes pause until you free space or buy another 250 MB block (€1/month). Pulls and exports keep working – you never lose access to your data.

How is billing handled?

Stripe via Laravel Cashier. EU VAT is calculated automatically; invoices include your VAT ID if you supply one at checkout.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. The Stripe Customer Portal handles cancellations – access continues through the end of the paid period.

Do you offer annual billing?

Yes – €30/year for Pro base (two months free). Switch from monthly anytime in the Customer Portal.

Refunds?

Email hello@harnesssync.com within 14 days of a charge. Pro-rated refunds otherwise at our discretion.

What does the backend see?

Account data (email, name, locale), billing data via Stripe, device tokens, and – on Pro – the contents of your synced repo. Free tier touches the backend only for account auth.

Telemetry?

Anonymous, opt-out, IP-rate-limited – no identifying tokens.

Data export?

Anytime, free, both tiers. Your sync repo can be exported to a tarball from the Billing page.
